It's football season and that's a big deal in our household. It makes sense that I'm a Vikings fan since I grew up in Minnesota and it makes sense that The Scottish is a Bears fan because when he first came to the US he lived in Chicago. It doesn't matter how long he lives here either, The Scottish will always be a Bears because you do not desert your team!
For now we're teaching the boys to say "Go Vikings!" AND "Go Bears!" But I'm curious to see if they'll always root for both teams or Read more [...]
Happy half year Wee Two!! I can't believe my baby is six months old!! Where to begin? This past August was a bit of a roller coaster. Our trip to Chicago was awesome but The Wee Two did not sleep well at all. Travel was quickly followed illness and teething. The Wee One had one tiny, itty bitty cold by six months, and The poor Wee Two has already had three. Second child problems!
We tried oatmeal this month and it was not very successful. The Wee Two didn't seem to enjoy it and Read more [...]
Waaaay back in May when my in-laws were here The Scottish and my FIL stained our backyard patio. We completely lucked out that the semi-transparent stain we picked matched the color of our house exactly. I'd call it a burnt orange and while I don't particularly like the color of our house very much, I do like when things match!
This was a pretty fast project but still took the better part of a day because they had to wait for the wood to dry multiple times. I won't pretend anyone needs Read more [...]
This cutie turned two on July 22nd and he's got the attitude to prove it. Hehe.
The Wee One is at such a fun age because he's talking so much more and we can actually have real conversations. I can understand almost everything he says and he is great at repeating new words although he sounds a bit like Joey from friends when Phoebe is trying to teach him French.
His interpretation of our last name is ridiculous and his version of coffee is wildly inappropriate. You'll just have Read more [...]
How am I so behind on The Wee Two's monthly updates?? Oh right, summer, life, and two kids.
My baby turned 5 months old on August 3rd and the next day we left town on his first road trip to Chicago. The Wee Two is growing crazy fast and even though he is still sleeping in 3 hour chunks, The Scottish and I have been doing a lot better with the lack of sleep in our lives. Unfortunately, you might say we've gotten used to it.
An update on the Zantac, it worked for the first couple of days Read more [...]
Hi everybody! Popping in to share some happy news, I was recently accepted to be a contributing blogger for the parenting website, Hellobee!
The sweets generation just came out and I was pumped to get my first choice of Mrs.Cookie! Is there anything tastier than a classic chocolate chip cookie??
Some of my content will be similar to posts on DH but most of it will be brand new. I'm very excited to be joining another group of talented bloggers and if you're a fellow parent and have not Read more [...]
These are the years...
of going to bed at 8:30 PM because we're so crazy exhausted.
of rarely being alone together.
of nothing in the house for lunch but sandwich bread heels and old fruit. Just enough to keep everyone fed.
of wearing the same stained shirts and ripped jeans because any extra money goes to clothing for the boys.
of calling each other Mommy and Daddy.
of eating out less. Oh, how we miss eating out.
of watching Netflix together instead of talking or connecting Read more [...]
My baby turned 4 months old on July 3rd! Full disclosure, it's been rough over here. I thought The Wee Two's sleep was bad before, haha, guess what? It can always get worse.
My sweet boy's night wakings are out of control. The Scottish and I have passed sleep deprivation and rounded the corner into sleep torture. Immediately after The Wee Two hit 3 months old he began waking up a ton at night. I don't mean every few hours, I mean every 30-40 minutes some nights. He'd often wake up Read more [...]
I know, I know, this update is super late but better late than never. We had a fantastic time while The Scottish's parents were in town, and we got to show them more of what the Twin Cities has to offer. I love Minneapolis and St. Paul and each time they visit I get more ideas of places to visit and things to do. We are already excited for next May! :)
This post is going to be extremely photo-heavy and perhaps not super interesting to most of you readers. But for our family it's a Read more [...]
This was a big month for The Wee Two. We had Papa and Gran Scottish visiting from Glasgow for three weeks so not only were we extra busy but this little guy did a ton of developing too.
I absolutely LOVE when a baby's personality starts to peek through. I'd describe the first look of his personality as laid-back, curious, and sweet. The Wee Two began giggling and laughing this month and it's pretty much the best thing ever. I don't think I caught his first chuckle like I did with The Read more [...]
