First off, THANK YOU for all the well wishes and page views following my baby announcement.  It appears there is interest in baby related drama, so while it won’t be all pregnancy posts all the time, it’s good to know I can share what I’ve been saving up my sleeve.  Thanks for the love readers! So I know I’m not the first blogger to share hilarious and awkward phrases that people use to stumble upon blogs, but it’s just too funny to ignore them.  I figure I could do a post like this once a Read more […]

The day we found out! The day we found out!

There is something I’ve hidden from you guys for the last few months… but I know you’ll forgive me once I spill the beans. In fact, it’s better explained in this video spoof ((Tell me someone else used to watch A Baby Story on TLC back in the day.) the Sister and I made for this exact occasion. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s-rSa_gUoOg&feature=youtu.be YES, WE’RE EXPECTING!!  (And yes, we’re dorks.  And double yes, I owe The Scottish BIG TIME for agreeing to star in this movie with Read more […]

Sleeping is Harder Than it Looks

This title makes no sense to the average person.  Sleeping is the most beautiful thing on earth, right? And it’s so easy for some people, but alas, not for me. There are many factors to blame here, my small bladder, my anxiety, my over-active brain. When The Scottish and I first got together and he’d spend the night, he was a light, light sleeper.  Every time I’d get up to go to the bathroom, I’d do it quickly, barely conscious, and then lay back down and be asleep in a matter of seconds.  He, Read more […]

So yea, this happened, like yesterday. The Scottish and I were going to the Kansas City Zoo once last time before we moved to Minnesota and as we were exiting the parking lot to get to the front entrance we were trudging through snow and walking over the boulevard. Stepping onto the street, I misjudged how deep the snow was and sent my right foot down a black hole of death (otherwise known as an open grate or drain.)  Losing my balance I fell smack down to the concrete, breaking my fall with Read more […]

An Extrovert Gets a Lesson in Lonlieness

Me at 26 Me at 26

I was inspired to write this post after re-reading my interview with S from last week.  It intrigued me when S explained how much she loved to be alone.  I couldn’t relate at all and started to feel a bit strange about that. I know many of my girlfriends relish their time alone.  And don’t get me started on men.  Yes, this is a gross generalization but tell me it’s not true?!?!  Men LOVE their alone time.  Video games, movies, browsing the internet, playing on their phone, doing NOTHING. The Sister Gets a Surprise Visitor

remember the time remember the time

The theme for this week’s Remember the Time blog hop is first day of school.  Recap any first day of school and tell us what went down.  This week is brought to you by Kelly and her guest host, Rob! Don’t you think it’s time for another sister story?  Good.  Me too. It was The Sister’s very first day at middle school.  It was my first day as a big 7th grader so clearly I knew all there was to know about EVERYTHING.  She was a lowly 6th grader and probably a bit nervous to be the small Read more […]

Yay, we all made it to Friday!  Cheers to us! I haven’t done a Way To Go Weekend in a while so I thought it was time to bring it back.  So how are you doing?  Personally, I’m feeling incredibly stressed out and crabby because we are moving next Thursday and my house is a whirlwind of packing chaos.  I LOATHE clutter and when my house is cluttered my mind just poops out on me and refuses to work.  To make matters worse The Scottish is being spread thin at work even though it’s his last week. Happy Tuesday everybody!  It’s time for another relationship interview and this week we are talking to S about what it’s like to be single when it seems most of the world chooses to pair off and get married. (Yes, it’s become clear I have an obsession with funny e cards.  Sorry I’m not sorry.) As always be respectful in the comments but DO feel free to comment!  S is a fellow artist friend and someone I met while doing theatre in Chicago.  She’s really nice and really funny.  And I Read more […]

I’m happy to report the Remember the Time blog hop is back and this week’s theme is big iconic news (and how it affected you).  Link up HERE or HERE to add your own post or to read the other entries! I’ve mentioned before that my memory is pretty pathetic, which makes the Remember the Time blog hop even more fun for me because it forces me to enter the recesses of my mind and pull out some trinkets I’d otherwise forgotten about. The first major events that crossed my mind were these two: I Read more […]

Mantra-2014 Mantra-2014

It’s only been a week or so since I picked a mantra for this great year, 2014.  In case you forgot, here it is again. As it turns out, I’m struggling to remember to use my mantra in times of frustration (example being when the internet guy visited and somehow managed to things worse instead of better), but do you know who isn’t struggling?  THE SCOTTISH.  Yes, every time I start to get annoyed with something or you know, raise my voice at him or because the world is full of idiots, he Read more […]
