It’s Friday, it’s Friday!  Whoo-hoo!  And it’s Valentine’s Day!

I just want to say I love you all and I’m sending everyone virtual XOXOXO’s because I’m a creep like that.  🙂  I’m sure I’ll have an update on how The Scottish did an excellent job of making me feel special on Valentine’s day so stay tuned for that next week.

In the meantime, today is exciting for two more reasons.  One, I finished a bathroom renovation at my parent’s house and I want to share it with you guys in a second.  Two, I have an announcement to make, we are officially on the search for a house!  The short version of the story is renting in the Twin Cities sucks and we’ve decided it’s time lay down some roots.  Since the market is also bad for sellers, we’ll be keeping the condo in Chicago as an income property and (hopefully) soon we’ll own two homes. Who would have thought that would ever happen!?!

While house-hunting is absolutely time-consuming and terrifying, it’s also SUPER exciting and I can’t wait to share the news that we have a place to live!  When’s the baby due again? End of July? Right.  Well, we’re hoping to be settled somewhere by June 1st.  Fingers crossed!

After painting my parent’s main bathroom I’ve only become more resolved in my stance of a finding a move-in ready home. The Scottish and I are NOT your average couple at Home Depot on the weekends geeking out about their latest home project. No thank you.  I’d go into detail about all the changes I made to their bathroom but frankly it bores me and this isn’t Young House Love (who I’m obsessed with btw), so you’ll have to settle for the classic before and after pictures.  Enjoy!

The Mother LOVED it and said she felt like she was on one of those home improvement shows.  YES.

PS How cute are these bathroom decor pieces I picked up from BBB?

I doubt DIY home projects will become a regular feature on DH but perhaps you’ll get some before and afters once we buy a house and for sure I will show you all a nursery reveal at some point.  Now go enjoy your Valentine’s Day because whether you are partnered or single you still have love in your life to celebrate!

Good luck with the house hunt!

As someone in the throes of buying a fixer-upper, we ARE looking forward to weekends spent in and out of home stores and dust masks, but getting there is proving to be the real trial.

Nice job with the bathroom! And I’m with you, I’d rather move in somewhere that is move in ready. Good luck with the house hunt!
