Cause you know, no one is perfect.  But I really, really wish I was.  If I was perfect I would have been able to manage my time well enough to get a blog post up for yesterday.  Instead, I have a weekend treat for you guys about my need for perfection and struggle with anxiety.  Fun, right? 🙂 This might sound a bit crazy, mostly because I am, but many times my writing is therapeutic and frankly, this post is so honest it should write itself.  You see, my need for perfection is about more Read more […]

It’s a Miracle!

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Heartstrings, The Home.

This post is gonna be short but sweet.  Very sweet because apparently when you think you’ve hit the rock bottom of house hunting and you’ve given up all hope, that is the exact moment when you will find your house.  I am exhibit A. Yes, a miracle has occurred, we had an offer accepted!!  Finally!  🙂 AHHHH!! I feel like doing jumping jacks eating all the chocolate!  We are SO excited. and frankly, still in shock. It’s quite a good story too of how it all went down so quickly but l have to Read more […]

Winter 2009 to 2010 017 Winter 2009 to 2010 017

Happy Monday everybody!  I’m here with a blogging challenge I discovered last week.  I’ve felt a little stuck in my own blogging world lately and wanted to connect with other bloggers, so hopefully you will enjoy finding out some info about The Scottish and I from before we were married. The challenge is actually a seven-day event but I’m choosing to do it all in one shot because daily blogging just doesn’t work for me.  This challenge was created by Kayla from Chasing a Daredevil and Twins. That’s right folks, time for some more pregnancy bump photos!  These seem to be popular posts based on viewing hits which baffles but doesn’t bother me.  I’m happy to share these and I really love watching my tummy grow along with all of you! Two new random symptoms of note: Blurry vision.  For those who are thinking, eek, you have preeclampsia, don’t fret, I don’t think it’s that.  It’s only happened one time and I don’t seem to have any other symptoms of preeclampsia, however I will talk Read more […]

I Got the Living At Home Blues

OK seriously people, we need to find a home!  We just had a tortuously long wait only to find out another offer we submitted on a home was rejected.  C’est la vie right?  Well, I hate getting my hopes up only to have them stepped on and tossed about.  This might not seem like a long time to some people (probably because it’s not) but it’s been almost two full months of searching, three houses we’ve loved, and two submitted and rejected offers (in multiple offer scenarios).  The market is over-flowing Read more […]

I Represent Me or A Rant on Women

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Not the Norm, Pregnancy, The Women.

I’ve thought a lot recently about how great it is to be a woman.  Being pregnant has me so in awe of what my body can do and I am constantly reminded of what a gift it is to be pregnant.  (For the record, men are amazing creatures too, but for today I want to talk about women.) This day in age it feels like anything a woman does simultaneously defines her womanhood while telling the world just how much of a feminist she really is.  For some reason, it’s not enough to just push for equality Read more […]

An Anniversary of Indulgence

The Scottish and I had the best time last weekend celebrating our one year wedding anniversary in downtown Minneapolis.  Life during a move can be pretty hectic so we were grateful for some time alone.  Plus, when you’re living with your parents, there’s not a ton of privacy.  Luckily, our parents were nice enough to watch McKenna for us so we were sans all responsibilities.  What a blessing that is!  I’m convinced we should do this every year now in March. We arrived at the hotel Friday Read more […]

Are you surprised?!?!  I wasn’t.  I actually had a dream the night before my 20 week appointment that we would go to the ultrasound and the technician would say boy.  To say The Scottish and I are excited is an understatement.  Remember how I felt a while ago on the whole boy or girl thing?  Well, knowing your baby is healthy is such a wonderful feeling. And knowing I’m going to have a son is just thrilling.  We couldn’t be happier!  🙂 We took the above pictures during The Scottish’s Read more […]

It’s Friday people!  It’s actually above freezing outside, and even though we didn’t get a house we put an offer on (boo!), good things are happening!  It’s been quite a week for my little family… For starters, The Scottish turned 30!  And we had a wonderful time celebrating. The finishing touches are being made to the first release of the new Drama Happens website  (my baby who predates McKenna and The Wee One), and we’re thinking the changes will be ready to share by next week! It’s Read more […]
