Now that we’re SO CLOSE to our house closing, and we have ordered both our bedroom furniture and baby boy’s nursery furniture, I thought I’d share some of my inspiration for our little guy’s room. If you followed me over from Weddingbee you already know how much I adore a good theme.  That said, I don’t make inspiration or mood boards because I have no idea how to put them together. I do however, have photos of the items that will be going in the nursery.  Hopefully they will suffice as inspiration Read more […]

Easter this year was amazing!  And weird but mostly amazing.  We definitely missed being with our extended family in North Dakota but when no one’s spring break lined up with Easter this year, we knew we’d be spending it in Minnesota.  With each of us kids having significant others, our immediate family’s grand total comes to 8 people plus two dogs.  Oh and a baby bump of course.  🙂 The Mother decided a sleepover was in order and everyone stayed at their house the day before Easter because Read more […]

This Baby Has to Come Out Somehow

Full disclosure, I’ve been both avoiding writing this post and sharing it.  Maybe it’s because I find the topic incredibly personal or over-indulgent.  Maybe it’s because I don’t feel I can offer anything new on the subject.  Maybe it’s because I think no one will care.  Regardless, one of the reasons I write this blog is to have memories to look back on that would otherwise be forgotten.  So here it is. Natural Birth.  Non-medicated Birth or whatever you want to call it.  This is how I Read more […]

Who’s ready for a pregnancy update?  Yes?  ME TOO.  🙂 Next week I have a big appointment.  I get another ultrasound to see if my placenta has moved and how my fibroid is doing. I also get my glucose test to check for gestational diabetes.  Not looking forward to that and trying to eat better in preparation, but we’ll see what happens! At my last appointment I told my OB that baby has been moving and kicking but it’s still really inconsistent and that many times I feel like he’s jumping Read more […]

Back Attack

Happy Monday Readers!  Here is the LONG story of my back issues from 2011.  Thank goodness I wrote it all down when it was fresh in my mind because there are definitely parts I did not remember until now. Crazy. It will take some time to read so dive in when you have a few extra minutes.  I wish I could say I re-posted it word for word but OH MY GOSH the typos.  I had to revise a few things but please excuse the switching of tenses and run-on sentences because I couldn’t very well re-write Read more […]

DramaLite: “Babysitter of the Year”

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Blushworthy, DramaLite, Wee Ones.

what what

It’s been forever since I’ve shared a DramaLite on the blog so I wanted to remedy that.  Unfortunately this story airs on side of being drama HEAVY and still causes me to shudder and tremble with fear and anxiety.  Have I got your attention?  Good.  Settle in, its story time folks. When I was interviewing to become a nanny I was offered two positions, the one I ended up taking and before that another one for a young couple with a three-month old girl who lived in a condo in Lincoln Park. I was thinking the other day how much I really enjoy spending time with my husband.  I realize you’re all probably thinking, DUH STEPHANIE, of course you like spending time with him, you married him, tell us something we don’t know! Right so it makes sense, but it’s kind of baffling to me sometimes.  It could be a visit to State Farm to discuss home insurance, going to the grocery store, taking McKenna for a walk, or watching TV but I don’t get sick of him!  Sure we’re young and have only been Read more […]

Throwback Birthday Memories

22nd bday 3

Today’s post is part of the monthly Remember the Time blog hop!  The theme for this week is birthday memories.  The blog hop badge recently got a makeover too, check it out at the bottom of this post.  Isn’t it cute? I love birthdays, or rather, I love the idea of birthdays.  In actuality they can be stressful due to many factors, and our expectations can be difficult to control, and then sometimes they can be disappointing which is why thinking and dreaming about your birthday is sometimes Read more […]

The Black Spot in Our New House

Now that I’ve raved about how awesome our house is, it’s time to get real.  It shouldn’t be surprising that there are parts of our new home that I don’t particularly like and parts that we will want to change in the future.  100% perfect houses don’t exist just like 100% perfect people don’t exist!  It’s all about finding something you absolutely love and can fashion into your dream house over time. The Scottish and my parents might disagree with me, but I think the worst part of our new house Read more […]

A Closer Look: Married to a Man, Almost Married to a Woman

Today’s interview is with fellow Bee blogger and friend of mine Kari, aka Miss Tiara on Weddingbee.  She is one of those people you could talk to for hours about anything because she’s just so likable and smart.  It’s clear to me Kari’s past relationships do NOT define her, so why am I asking her to talk about them?  Well, besides the fact that I believe gay marriage should be treated as any other marriage instead of being glorified or condemned, I also feel we need to hear more from people Read more […]
