FINALLY. I have a before and after post for you lovely people. We’ll go slowly, a few rooms at a time. This week I’m going to share our bedroom, the guest bedroom, the entryway/kitchen, and the black bathroom (which is the lamest of renovations because it’s scheduled for a full overhaul at some point in the future and the stuff we did is very minimal).
You’ll see that we don’t have the vent situation figured out yet. It’s proving impossible to find the correct size so that’s one item that seems like it will never leave The List. Argh!
Anyway, get ready for A LOT of pics! 🙂
The biggest thing to note with all of our bedrooms is that I went really CHEAP with our curtains and it turned out pretty well. When I say cheap I mean 10-15 dollars per panel from Target and Walmart. Eventually when we redo all the windows we will consider a higher quality window treatment but for now, these are working out just fine.
And my favorite detail of the room. This adorable trash bucket I registered for online with our Amazon wedding registry. I know, I’m weird.
I’m slightly embarrassed about the open closet situation but it’s not a priority with baby on the way and the many expenses of buying a home AND still needing to purchase a second car. Womp womp.
FRONT ENTRYWAY AND KITCHEN
Unfortunately, there are no before photos of the awful fluorescent lighting, but trust me, it was there.
I also want to point out that we did end up getting a microwave for above the stove. The previous owners told us at closing that they just never got around to it which is why they had a microwave taking up space on the counter. After lots of debate on whether or not there would be enough space in between the microwave and stove if we put one in, we ended up going for it! And I think it looks fantastic.
The console table in that last photo is from Kirkland’s and we got it on sale for 130, originally 180 dollars. It was the perfect piece to go by the door as a catch-all for mail and keys. And the tall unit next to the console is the pantry- it’s large and in charge, in a really good way I might add.
Can you read what the mirror says? “I’m the fairest of them all…” Because of everyone could use a little more self-esteem when they’re in that bathroom. 🙂
Hope you enjoyed our updates so far! I can’t wait until I can share more of them!
