Our lives are very full, very rich… with blessings.  It’s difficult living on one income but it’s the right decision for us and I wouldn’t trade my time with The Wee One for anything.  So what if we don’t have a lot of money leftover after paying our mortgage and bills?  We can still daydream about all the things we’d buy if we had lots of extra moolah!

Here’s our current list of wants.  Let’s be real, if money were no object we wouldn’t be buying a used second car but you get my point, right?

1. A used second car.  We’re looking at Honda’s, Hyundai’s, and Saturn’s in a four-door but we’re open to whatever we can find in budget. The goal is to buy something that can get The Scottish to work and back as our Kia Sportage (with all the bells and whistles) is our main vehicle and has Wee One’s carseat in it.

2A. A dining table with matching side hutch.  The set I’m looking at is at IKEA because I’m trying to be realistic even if this is a daydream.  No matter how much I try to get away from IKEA furniture, I find myself coming back time and time again.  You really can’t beat their prices!

2B. A HUGE TV.  The Scottish and I disagree on what we need/want more after we buy a car so I had to break it up into two parts.  I do agree though, that our current TV feels tiny.  Is 32 inches tiny these days??  Seriously, our current model looks a bit ridiculous in the corner of our large great room.  Sometimes I squint while watching TV from the couch.  It’s for real.

3. A NEW BATHROOM!!  We’re not even close to redoing our upstairs eyesore yet but that doesn’t stop me from hating it thinking about it.  Luckily I married a man who has similar design tastes.  I would describe our style as minimalist, modern, geometric, and neutral.  We definitely don’t like bright colors or anything antique-y or traditional looking. These inspiration pics are really out of budget but it’s a good idea of what we like.

This is The Scottish’s DREAM shower and he would love the dark colors.

4. An LG dishwasher.

We have all stainless steel in the kitchen except for the dishwasher which is an old white KitchenAid model that has recently started leaking!  It will probably be cheaper for us to repair it instead of replace it but it’s on the list for someday.

5. A grill.

I don’t even know if The Scottish is good at grilling because I’ve never seen him do it!  Luckily we know people who own grills and they invite us over for delicious cooked meats… yum.

6. A pool table/ping pong table in one.

Don’t we absolutely NEED this for our basement???

I can’t wait to turn our basement into a game room for friends and family.  I can picture The Wee One and his buddies playing with it as they get older.  Aww!

OK,that’s my wish list.  I’ll keep you guys up to date as we check items off the list.  To be honest, I’m not in any rush. Waiting on nice things is a lesson in patience.  Life isn’t about material stuff after all.  It’s about pedicures, lattes, baby clothes family.

What’s on your want list?

Oh Wow! I love that 2nd bathroom photo with the big white tub. Dreamy! We have similiar design tastes. I love the clean, modern look. Dwell makes me drool. PS. Great outlook on life. It isn’t about the material things!

I love your list! A bathroom remodel is definitely on my list, as well as a kitchen remodel, adding a deck to the back of our house, and if money was absolutely no object, a swimming pool!
