This is one of those blogging prompt posts that someone I follow recently did, and I thought it was a fun read.  Here is a small slice of my life right now, hope you enjoy. Making : Phone-date plans to connect up with a faraway friend. Cooking : Tonight on the menu is (store-bought) breaded tilapia and rice. Drinking : Starbucks vanilla latte from the grocery store.  It’s not quite as good as the original but it works. Reading: Just finished Amy Poehler’s Yes Please.  I want to say I loved Read more […]

Guess what?  I have a recipe to share today.  I know what you’re all thinking, “But you hate cooking Stephanie!”  You would be correct!  For the most part I am basic cook who does what she has to feed her family.  Nothing fancy over here folks.  And I certainly don’t spend hours on one meal or take artistic photographs of my food to share on my blog. Well, all that changes today.  And while this may never happen again and my recipe series may die a fast and painless death after this post, Read more […]

Yesterday was The Wee One’s half birthday and what a day it was!  It started with him waking up earlier than normal, followed by his six month doctor visit complete with five shots. Isn’t this the saddest picture ever?!?  The Wee One cried during his shots but was a trooper the rest of the day. After a quick 10 minute nap on the ride home from his appointment, I nursed him and we got back in the car to visit Grandma MN at her elementary school.  I left with extra time so I could drive Read more […]

Hello lovely readers!  Did you notice my absence yesterday?  I was not able to post as scheduled on Monday because I had a busy week, a busier weekend, and not enough time to prepare a quality blog post.  Technically, this minor change shouldn’t warrant an apology but to those loyal readers out there, I am sorry.  I like to be reliable! Blogging on a regular schedule has always been good for me, both mentally and emotionally.  It helps me stay connected to Drama Happens and to my readers. Read more […]

Way to Go Weekend: Brain Dump

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Humor, The Scottish, The Wee One, Way To Go Weekend.

Happy Friday everybody!! I need a place to write down all the random thoughts swirling in my head and I figured we could all use a break from baby posts… maybe.  (No?  Good, because I can’t stop talking about him.) 1. Anyone else house poor and getting pumped about potentially receiving a hefty tax return?  We have two major changes when it comes to our taxes this year, a house AND a baby.  Cha-ching.  Or at least I hope so.  And I realize that you’re supposed to break even and all Read more […]

I mentioned previously in my holiday recap post that The Wee One was baptized in early January at my parent’s community church.  I wanted to share a bit more about the experience and how we made it our own. First off, I don’t really ascribe to the belief of Godparents.  The Mother and The Father had all three of us baptized when we were babies but instead of naming Godparents, they “gave us” to their church at the time, so I grew up without the traditional Godparent relationship.  While Read more […]

One Night Away

holiday party holiday party

This past Friday evening was my first night away from The Wee One.  The Scottish and I were attending his work holiday party and we decided early on to book a hotel room so we could make the most out of our child-free evening.  We were gone from about 5 PM to 11 AM the next day, not even a full 24 hours. But it was still painful.  It might seem silly to some people, but believe me when I say it’s a very nerve-wracking thing the first time you leave your child for a long period of time.  I Read more […]

Through The Wee One’s Eyes

I have SO many adorable photos of my little guy from these past few weeks that I decided to fill an entire post of The Wee One’s holiday adventures.  I thought it would be more fun if The Wee One himself explained the photos from his point of view.  😉  After a long 8 hour drive to Bismarck, ND, I was ready to stretch and hang out with my family.  Great Grandma J gave me a new toy which Mommy promptly shoved in my mouth.  Now I chew on that caterpillar all the time. On Christmas Eve Read more […]

2015 Is About…

Me.  Or self-care, rather.  It’s also about strengthening relationships and spending time with family and friends, but mostly it’s about me, haha.  I can tell you it WON’T be about moving, home buying, or birthing a baby.  2015 will be quieter.  It will be introspective and light, but funny, and fun. I will allow myself to be more selfish (are you wondering if that is even possible?).  All kidding aside, I want to take better care of myself.  I’ve felt really frumpy and gross recently and Read more […]

Hi friends!!!  How is everyone doing?  It feels like I’ve been away for decades but it’s only been a week. Bizarre right?  So much has happened that I have no idea where to start.  Bullet points seem like a concise way to share my update, and they’re about all the writing energy I can muster.  I’m currently feeling those depressive Sunday Night Blues and now that the holiday season is over, I want to hibernate until spring.  What is the point of life without friends and family parties and Read more […]
