Hello!  I know this is a belated update but hey, it’s not too belated.  Besides being late it’s also going to be a weak update with minimal commentary.  What can I say?  I’m busy!  The Wee One’s birthday party is this coming weekend (so I’m running around like a chicken with my head cut off, in a good way of course) and The Glue/The Tape’s wedding is coming up in early August which means meetings and fittings and timelines (I’m there coordinator person).  Plus my nanny family will be in town next week to visit!  Lots of good stuff and LOTS of To-Do lists.  🙂

I digress… we spent the 4th of July weekend at The BIL’s parent’s lake house in northern MN.  We had lovely time at their beautiful home and enjoyed the lake, a couple of relaxing boat rides, and The Scottish even attempted water skiing.  The Wee One got his first dip in lake water and seemed to love it while I barely dipped in a toe.  Typical.

The trip was not without its drama, The Wee One slept WORSE than he did at camping if you can believe it!  It was miserable.  We figured out later that he was getting cold but at first we assumed it was tough for him to sleep in the same room as us.  He has a lot of trouble putting himself down when he knows we are RIGHT THERE.  Needless to say, we really enjoyed this most recent weekend at home in our own beds.

Here are a few highlights of the trip in photos.  Take care friends, until next time!

We joked that this was The Wee One in his yacht, you know, cause he’s in a freaking POOL on a boat.  Haha!

The life of a parent can be boring and unglamorous.  The night of the fireworks The Scottish went to bed at 9 PM (he did have to drive the next day) and I hung out with The Sister in the house chatting until about 10 PM.  We saw zero fireworks but honestly, we didn’t mind.  Our kid was tired and our dog gets scared too easily.  Plus, there’s always next year, and the year after that, and the year after that…
