These stream of consciousness thoughts are based on my memory and in no particular order because well, sometimes they came so fast, there was no order!

To paint a picture, I had just taken a pregnancy test around 6 AM and ran into the bedroom to show The Scottish…

pregnancy test baby #2

Stephanie’s Initial Thoughts:

  • I’M PREGNANT, EEEEEEEE!!!
  • I literally can’t believe it, we’re going to have another baby!
  • This is so exciting, I can’t wait to meet them, we’re gonna have another baby!!
  • Oh my word, I’M gonna have another baby, I have to push out another baby, ugh.
  • That’s OK, 40 more weeks until I have to worry about that.
  • I hope this baby doesn’t take as long to labor or push…
  • Are we going to have a boy or girl????
  • Of course I would love a daughter, but I truly have no preference.  I just feel blessed to be expecting.
  • BROTHERS!  How cool would brothers be??
  • The Wee One is going to make an amazing big brother.  Oh my gosh, I can’t wait to see him with the new baby!!!!  EEEK!
  • I have to get started on a nursery.  Hmm, another educational/school type theme probably, good for either a boy or a girl.
  • We’re going to need a ton of new furniture and stuff for the new nursery.  Ugh, this is going to be expensive.
  • I’m nervous about how we’ll afford having another child.  I bet The Scottish is too.
  • Eh, there is never a perfect time to have a baby, I’m not gonna worry about that now.
  • I can’t believe I’m pregnant!  This baby is already growing. (puts hand on stomach)
  • No wonder I’ve been feeling so bloated lately.
  • Is my tummy already pooching out? (looks in mirror)
  • No that’s just my normal fat, darn.
  • I have to pee again.
  • Oh the pregnancy symptoms, constant peeing, heart burn, constipation, extra emotional, not being able to sleep on your back. (groan)
  • Doesn’t matter, it’s all worth it!
  • Symptoms be damned.  I love being pregnant!
  • I definitely want three kids now.
  • Growing a life is SO cool.
  • MATERNITY PANTS! I get to wear maternity pants again!!!!!
  • How soon is too soon?
  • I hear with a second baby you pop sooner.
  • When will I pop?
  • Hopefully not until after The Glue’s wedding.  That would suck.  I hope my dress fits.  Yikes.
  • I don’t wanna gain a bunch of weight again.  Boo.
  • Hello, you’re having a baby, it’s GOOD fat.
  • I love having a bump.
  • I can’t wait to feel the baby move.
  • I wonder what they will look like??
  • I hope they’re as cute as The Wee One.
  • The Wee One is so amazing, and I know this new baby will be too.  (happy sigh)

And so and so forth…  This is probably all within about 4 minutes.  #embarrassing

The Scottish’s Initial Thoughts:

  • That is great news, I’m so happy we’re having another baby.
  • Money worries.
  • Money worries.
  • Money worries.
  • If it’s a girl, I know I have to wipe a certain way and I have no idea which way that is…
  • I’m sure I’ll figure it out by then.
  • The Wee One is going to make an awesome big brother.
  • Money worries.
  • I’m still tired.

Annnnnnnnd he’s back to sleep.

Men and women are SO different, haha.  Can anyone else relate?  Maybe not on the topic, but on the fast-firing thoughts that go through the mind after big news?

I lol’d at the Scottish’s thought about wiping a girl. My husband was very concerned about the whole wiping/diaper changing our daughter. I swear he still whispers “front to back” when changing her.

This is hilarious and SO true! My hubby and I are due with our first on Feb 7, 2016 and I swear that this was pretty much everything we said in the first day or so after getting the positive test! All except the big brother/wee one stuff because we don’t have any others 🙂
