I know, I know, this update is super late but better late than never. We had a fantastic time while The Scottish’s parents were in town, and we got to show them more of what the Twin Cities has to offer. I love Minneapolis and St. Paul and each time they visit I get more ideas of places to visit and things to do. We are already excited for next May! 🙂
This post is going to be extremely photo-heavy and perhaps not super interesting to most of you readers. But for our family it’s a great way to relive a wonderful trip and a place to store all these memories. I hope you enjoy the pictures.
During their three weeks here we took a lot of long walks around the neighborhood. Fresh spring air is good for everyone.
We had The Wee Two’s baptism while Gran and Papa were in town so they could be a part of it. It was very special to have family from both sides at a big event as that rarely happens for us.
The Wee Two had support parents just like The Wee One!
Here The Wee One is examining The Wee Two’s quaich, which is a special Scottish drinking cup usually given as a gift to commemorate big events in one’s life. We also received a quaich at our wedding from The Scottish’s friends.
We went to the Mall of America a few times while they were here to visit the Children’s Museum, Sea Life Aquarium, and the Rainforest Cafe, which totally scared The Wee One. I love having such a big and versatile mall so close by. We plan on taking The Wee One to Nickelodeon Universe soon so he can try out the kiddie rides.
We took a boat tour on Lake Minnetonka with my parents as well. Despite being a bit chilly, it was a lovely day.
We went to the MN Landscape Arboretum which was a big hit with Gran and Papa since they love to garden.
We lucked out and saw a fawn resting and awake near the path. Such a beautiful creature!
We HAD to go to the Minnesota Zoo like we do every year. It’s one of the best kid-friendly places in the area and it’s so close to our house.
We also spent time hanging out and working in the backyard. And plenty of time playing and relaxing in the house.
This is the best pic we got of both boys in their “best big/little brother” shirts.
It’s always sad to say goodbye when we know it will most likely be a full year before we see them again, but we do an awesome job of making the most of our time together. And there’s always our once a month Skype sessions! We hope that The Wee One will chat more with Grandpa and Grandma now that he’s older and will be able to remember their visit.
Thanks for a great trip Papa and Gran Scottish! Miss you guys!
