Way To Go Weekend: What’s Your Favorite Sitcom?

Is anyone else ready to be done with this week?  Did you feel like you were slogging through it?  Or did you have to go back to work in between Christmas and New Year’s and you’re sick of hearing about people’s long breaks? The Scottish’s recent week off was a week off for me as the primary care-giver of The Wee One.  It was awesome!  Not to say that this week was bad, but it was tougher.  I’m feeling really tired again and despite my best efforts I’ve been lifting and bending too much. Heeeey Everybody!  I missed you guys.  And I missed blogging.  Although taking a break is always beneficial to me because I come back itching to share my stories and thoughts.  The Scottish had last week off from work and it’s been amazing!  I loving extra family time and it’s so stinkin’ cute to see how much The Wee One loves playing with and hanging on to his Daddy. My back has felt really good lately and I know that’s because I’ve carried The Wee One A LOT less recently.  Alas, it’s Read more […]

I love reading those hilarious posts about how different a woman’s second pregnancy is to her first.  It happens to all of us.  We have more time to obsess and plan during the first one and during the second one it’s a blur of parenthood mixed with pregnancy.  Here’s my list of the biggest differences. My first pregnancy we had timed everything perfectly and I was charting my cycle.  I peed on lots of tests and I remember the night before I found out I was pregnant The Scottish and I went Read more […]

I’ve been feeling extra emotional these days.  Pregnancy hormones are mostly to blame, but let’s be honest, I cry at the drop of a hat even when I’m not pregnant.  There are so many thoughts zipping through my head at all times, so much to do in preparation for baby #2, and yet, so much joy and gratefulness in the everyday little things.  Life is good, and we’re really trying to make the most of this blessed time of year. However shiny my little bubble is, there is turmoil, death, sorrow, Read more […]

A Bump and a Blood Test

Time for some preggo updates people! First off, I have a bummer of a new symptom going on, nerve and back pain.  🙁  This is really bad because the pain i’m feeling is eerily reminiscent of the pain I felt before my back surgery for a herniated disc in 2011.  Read that story HERE if you are so inclined. During my last pregnancy I had very little issues with back pain and the discomfort I did experience was much later on. This time around it started shortly after the midway mark of 20 weeks Read more […]

Hello lovely readers and Happy Thanksgiving to those folks in the USA!   Guys, I’ve become such a holiday junkie in my (relatively) “old” age.  I love it more and more each year!  I can’t get enough of holiday music and I usually start baking cookies as soon as Halloween is over.  I love family get togethers, holiday parties, and browsing the holiday section in every store I go into to.  The cold weather seems appropriate now and joy is in the air. Speaking of joy, I’m so happy Read more […]

My title doesn’t make a lot of sense because I left Chicago in the summer of 2013.  The goodbye is actually in reference to the condo I owned from 2009 until about a week ago!  That’s right, I recently sold my first home.  But I should back up a bit before I get into that… I didn’t have a lot of reason to discuss my junior one bedroom (studio) condominium here on Drama Happens but it’s been a huge part of my life for years.  I lived there from 2009 to 2012 and since then I’ve been renting Read more […]

DramaLite: Pregnant Lady Down

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Blushworthy, DramaLite, Humor, Pregnancy, The Wee One.

Does anyone remember the DramaLite series I started many moons ago?   I know, I barely do too, but it was a series of posts that all shared something embarrassing about me. I find it’s really important to be able to laugh at yourself, and being a klutz, I have many opportunities to do so. Let me set the scene.  I’m out to lunch with a fellow mama friend and her daughter.  We are at a restaurant in the Mall of America.  We are sitting in a booth.  The kiddos have booster seats on the inside Read more […]

I have a new pregnancy symptom and it’s a weird one!!  I cannot handle anything remotely spicy or my tongue feels like it’s on fire.  Seriously, it’s like this awful burning and it becomes so distracting I can’t even finish my meal many times.  Sure, pregnancy can affect your taste buds and you may have cravings or aversions to things but this tongue on fire thing is totally new for me. Granted, I’ve never been a fan of spicy foods, I grew up on my mother’s cooking and she didn’t season a Read more […]

The Wee One sported two different looks this year for two reasons, 1) it’s fun and 2) he needed a costume to wear to his party with his fellow toddler friends because his other one didn’t make sense without The Cuz Man. First up, introducing Dr. Wee One. I was able to snap a few photos of him before he headed into post-op to meet with a patient.  He’s a very busy man you know. The Wee One loved wearing his stethoscope, which we all thought he would get annoyed with but no, he he wore Read more […]
