A Bump and a Birthday

Guys, I’m running out of awkward plays on words using “bump” for blog post titles.  Remember Bumpyland or Bumptastic?  So last year, right?  Haha.  For this pregnancy each bump post will be A Bump and a something starting with the letter B.  (The first one was A Bump and a Boy, the boy because I started taking bump photos with The Wee One each week.) Sooo I feel like I should share a pregnancy symptom update like I used to do.  The thing is it all feels normal, and similar, and I’m not sure Read more […]

GOOD RIDDANCE YOU BLACK PIT OF DEATH

Oh, does that sound a bit dramatic??  WELL THAT’S HOW I FEEL.  The black monstrosity also known as the biggest whirlpool tub ever also known as our home’s eyesore is gone folks.  It took three adult men most of one morning to remove it but they were successful. I wanted to blog a bit more this week but it has been crazy town over here.  As you can see we’re finally having our bathroom redone and I’m doing really well… complaining about it.  The guys who are working on it have been awesome Read more […]

This post has been ruminating in my head for weeks now, maybe even months.  Sometimes it’s easier to whine write about the crappy times in your life because readers like to see all whole spectrum, not just the best parts you show on Facebook.  It makes a blogger more relate-able. On the other hand, as an outspoken mommy blogger, everyone who reads DH knows that gushing about my child is inevitable.  I know I’m biased but I’m pretty sure it’s completely warranted because he’s AMAZING.  But Read more […]

Let’s Catch Up

Starbucks Starbucks

Hey everybody!  My birthday was on Sunday so I used it as an excuse to do a whole lot of nothing most of the weekend.  It was really nice to unplug and step away from my computer for a bit.  But I’m back and ready to catch up!  How are you doing?  Anyone else have an October birthday (aka the best month)?? I won’t go over my birthday weekend in great detail but I will share a few things.  The Mother totally spoiled me and I got a new pair of shoes and a new diaper bag!  I’m hoping to Read more […]

At the end of August we did a mini photo shoot to capture our baby #2 announcement photo and I thought I’d share the rest of our pictures.  We shot the photos at my old elementary school which made it extra special.  Sometimes it feels like I never left Minnesota for those 12 years.  How can that be? Anyway, here’s the photo The Scottish edited to make our social media announcement.  His favorite part is The Wee One peering down over the bar at me. This was our other option.  Obviously Read more […]

This post is going to be very personal and very cathartic for me, and to be honest, probably a little dramatic too.  I definitely have more feelings on the subject of breastfeeding than I can articulate into words but I’m going to do my best to recap things, for myself so I can look back on this in years to come, and for those of you with interest in breastfeeding and weaning. First, some notes.  (And a catch-up for anyone new-ish to DH, hello!) All photos taken this week by The Scottish. Timeline Read more […]

A Bump and a Boy

It’s pretty common knowledge that your bump appears a lot quicker with your second pregnancy than it does with your first.  The stomach muscles have stretched out and are not as firm as they used to be and in my mind, I like to imagine my uterus being all like, “OH COOL, this again? I know what to do.” as it wastes no time pushing on my bladder and forcing out my gut. The Scottish and I were slow to the game on taking photographs of this bump but I knew I wasn’t going to be that person who Read more […]

What Men and Women Think About When They Find Out They’re Expecting, Again

pregnancy test baby #2 pregnancy test baby #2

These stream of consciousness thoughts are based on my memory and in no particular order because well, sometimes they came so fast, there was no order! To paint a picture, I had just taken a pregnancy test around 6 AM and ran into the bedroom to show The Scottish… Stephanie’s Initial Thoughts: I’M PREGNANT, EEEEEEEE!!! I literally can’t believe it, we’re going to have another baby! This is so exciting, I can’t wait to meet them, we’re gonna have another baby!! Oh my word, Read more […]

Saint Paul Saints Game Saint Paul Saints Game

Mmm, it smells like autumn a little bit, doesn’t it?  The air is crisper in the morning and pumpkins are popping up everywhere in everything.  Speaking of, am I the only person who doesn’t drink pumpkin spice lattes?  Instead, I spend most of September and October shoveling these delicious candies into my mouth. I have so many emotions going into September and during back to school time.  I’m not yet sending my little guy off to school so I get to enjoy the desolation of all the parks Read more […]

I Have an Announcement to Make

I’m pregnant!!  Yay!!  The Wee One will be 19 and a half months old when his sibling arrives, hence, the 2 kids are under 2 years of age social media announcement.  As I’ve told people in person, I usually start by saying, “I have some news”  And before I can finish, they’ve interrupted me with, “Are you pregnant?”  Yep. It was a slight surprise to us as my cycle was being wonky from breastfeeding and I couldn’t chart but it was the BEST surprise really.  I told The Scottish I didn’t Read more […]
