I’m sure you’ve all heard the newest royal baby was born on May 2nd to Prince William and Princess Kate aka The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.  They had a girl named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana!! But you can also refer to her with the official title of Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge if you feel so inclined. Man, they’re a gorgeous couple. OK enough royal family fawning.  The real point of this post is that the new little princess is giving me terrible baby Read more […]

First Mother’s Day Anticipation

My first Mother’s Day is coming up this May. I know I share this holiday with millions of other wonderful women but this year is special for me because it’s my first time as a mother and a mother to the most amazing little boy at that.  Of course when something feels extra special, the expectations can ride a little high. According to The Scottish I’m not the easiest person to surprise or gift at holidays (WHAA??), so I’m going to tell him exactly what I want this time. Does anyone else Read more […]

The Name Game

It’s obvious that my first name is on the long side as far as first names go.  Stephanie was always one of the longest names in my classes growing up.  It never fit on those Scantron tests that spelled out both your first and last names, but instead read as Stephan.  Regardless of its length, I would meticulously write my name out on each and every piece of homework I was given, never shortening it.  I only introduce myself as Stephanie and can’t imagine calling myself Steph. I love my name, Read more […]

Based on my last post it would appear that our trip to Chicago was perfect.  While it was definitely wonderful, it was also exhausting and stressful at times. I hope you guys know by now that I try to share both the awesome and frustrating parts of life and this trip will be no exception.  Unfortunately, The Scottish and I were not as nice to each other as we could have been while traveling to and from Chicago. Shocking I know, haha! The main reason behind our bickering was due to our failure Read more […]

How To Achieve Blogger Fame

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Blogging, Humor, The Dramatic Arts.

I’ve been thinking a lot about the world of blogging lately, and I’ve been doing a bit of soul-searching in regards to my goals with Drama Happens.  Recently I’ve been reading blog posts about how blogging might be a dying trend.  WHAT??? This hypothesis is depressing but also valid in a world of Twitter, Snapchat, and Instagram. Short snippets and photos seem to be the easier and preferred form of communication these days, and it’s evident that attention spans are shortening.  Are people still Read more […]

Not This Again

ARGH!!!!!!!  We have thrush again.  If you have no idea why I’m so upset by this then perhaps you are new here (so welcome!) or maybe you just missed those posts where I shared our journey with thrush that started when The Wee One was a newborn. (Catch up by reading THIS about the beginning, THIS for the most recent update or THIS for something humorous.) Yes, I’m in pain again.  Nursing hurts but it’s not like before, it’s more of a manageable nuisance that makes me wince and tense up Read more […]

Oh my gosh, it was SO NICE out this past weekend.  Nice enough that we spent two afternoons in a row in our backyard.  Man, I love our backyard.  Maybe that’s because I don’t handle the maintenance of it like The Scottish does, hehe, love you hunny! 🙂 It felt like such a luxury to be able to sit outside but in a private-ish setting.  It felt even more amazing to be outside without being all bundled up.  The Wee One still needed a few layers but it was a much needed change from all the clunky Read more […]

Way To Go Weekend: Morning/Night Routines

Happy Friday folks! I’ve been thinking a lot about the things I do in the morning and at night and I was wondering, What is something in your morning or nighttime routine that make your life easier or helps you wake up/sleep better? In the Scottish household our average wake-up time is between 6 AM and 7 AM, aka “The Wee One alarm” because he tells us when it’s time to get up. Some days we get to sleep until The Scottish’s work alarm goes off at 6:45 AM and those days are niiiice.  (Though, Read more […]

It’s Not That Noticeable

This post has taken a while for me to sit down and write.  For some reason I’m embarrassed about both the situation and my response to the situation, and I don’t embarrass easily.  I’m also worried what others may think, which is puzzling because most of the time I don’t care what people think of my posts.  Drama Happens is a place for my thoughts, my life, and my stories.  Yet, this one made me pause. Luckily, I don’t let fear dictate my life, so here goes… The Wee One has a flat spot Read more […]

Coffield Wedding 0137 Coffield Wedding 0137

It was exactly two years ago today on March 9th, 2013 that The Scottish and I were married. I still look back fondly on that day as one of the best in my life.  Two years later we are becoming less like newly weds and more like a seasoned married couple.  Our life is finally a bit predictable and full of family, friends, downtime, and routine.  We both love it. As is our tradition, we celebrated by getting away for a night at a nearby hotel.  Last year at last we attempted a staycation Read more […]
