Are You a Jerk or a Sweetheart?

I was half watching this show the other day about random life facts when something grabbed my attention.  They were explaining how to tell if you’re a jerk or a sweetheart.  Well, I thought, I must find out!! First sign you’re a jerk?  You don’t think it’s AT ALL possible that you are one.  I was already doing well because it was something I had to contemplate for a minute.  Phew! A jerk is someone who kisses up to those above them (on the work or social life ladder) and looks down on Read more […]

My Husband Makes Me Pee My Pants

To start off this little tale, I must explain how jumpy of a person I am.  Also, I’m afraid of the dark.  When I was little I used to speed-run up the stairs in my parent’s house because I was convinced there was a witch was chasing me after I turned off the lights.  I scare easily but I don’t like to be scared so you won’t find me in any haunted houses come October. You might not realize this but The Scottish is one scary dude.  Why, you ask?  The Scottish is a slender guy.  He’s light-footed, Read more […]

Being Sick Bites

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Humor, Relationships General.

We have a cold virus going through our family.  The Wee One seemed to catch it first and he’s now on antibiotics for a slight ear infection and slight pink eye.  It’s his first big cold (he’s only been sick one other time and it was only a quick 24 hours).  I’m anal and can spot conjunctivitis (pink eye) a mile away, so I’m pretty sure he only had that for about 4 hours total.  Poor thing is still coughing, has a bad diaper rash from his meds, and is a bit miserable at times but he’s on the mend! The Read more […]

Come on Nephew, We’re Ready to Meet You!

As of today The Sister is 40.5 weeks and still no sign of baby.  Well, that’s not entirely true, her body is preparing and has been for weeks now but it’s all just prodromal (early) labor contractions.  She feels good, too good to be so far along, and she looks even better. The Sister is all bump and while she misses being able to bend over, she is not at all miserable.  This is something I do not understand.  I was SO ready to give birth near the end of my pregnancy because I was SO Read more […]

This is one of those blogging prompt posts that someone I follow recently did, and I thought it was a fun read.  Here is a small slice of my life right now, hope you enjoy. Making : Phone-date plans to connect up with a faraway friend. Cooking : Tonight on the menu is (store-bought) breaded tilapia and rice. Drinking : Starbucks vanilla latte from the grocery store.  It’s not quite as good as the original but it works. Reading: Just finished Amy Poehler’s Yes Please.  I want to say I loved Read more […]

Guess what?  I have a recipe to share today.  I know what you’re all thinking, “But you hate cooking Stephanie!”  You would be correct!  For the most part I am basic cook who does what she has to feed her family.  Nothing fancy over here folks.  And I certainly don’t spend hours on one meal or take artistic photographs of my food to share on my blog. Well, all that changes today.  And while this may never happen again and my recipe series may die a fast and painless death after this post, Read more […]

Hello lovely readers!  Did you notice my absence yesterday?  I was not able to post as scheduled on Monday because I had a busy week, a busier weekend, and not enough time to prepare a quality blog post.  Technically, this minor change shouldn’t warrant an apology but to those loyal readers out there, I am sorry.  I like to be reliable! Blogging on a regular schedule has always been good for me, both mentally and emotionally.  It helps me stay connected to Drama Happens and to my readers. Read more […]

Way to Go Weekend: Brain Dump

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Humor, The Scottish, The Wee One, Way To Go Weekend.

Happy Friday everybody!! I need a place to write down all the random thoughts swirling in my head and I figured we could all use a break from baby posts… maybe.  (No?  Good, because I can’t stop talking about him.) 1. Anyone else house poor and getting pumped about potentially receiving a hefty tax return?  We have two major changes when it comes to our taxes this year, a house AND a baby.  Cha-ching.  Or at least I hope so.  And I realize that you’re supposed to break even and all Read more […]

One Night Away

holiday party holiday party

This past Friday evening was my first night away from The Wee One.  The Scottish and I were attending his work holiday party and we decided early on to book a hotel room so we could make the most out of our child-free evening.  We were gone from about 5 PM to 11 AM the next day, not even a full 24 hours. But it was still painful.  It might seem silly to some people, but believe me when I say it’s a very nerve-wracking thing the first time you leave your child for a long period of time.  I Read more […]

2015 Is About…

Me.  Or self-care, rather.  It’s also about strengthening relationships and spending time with family and friends, but mostly it’s about me, haha.  I can tell you it WON’T be about moving, home buying, or birthing a baby.  2015 will be quieter.  It will be introspective and light, but funny, and fun. I will allow myself to be more selfish (are you wondering if that is even possible?).  All kidding aside, I want to take better care of myself.  I’ve felt really frumpy and gross recently and Read more […]
