How am I so behind on The Wee Two’s monthly updates??  Oh right, summer, life, and two kids. My baby turned 5 months old on August 3rd and the next day we left town on his first road trip to Chicago.  The Wee Two is growing crazy fast and even though he is still sleeping in 3 hour chunks, The Scottish and I have been doing a lot better with the lack of sleep in our lives.  Unfortunately, you might say we’ve gotten used to it. An update on the Zantac, it worked for the first couple of days Read more […]

The Wee Two: Four Months

My baby turned 4 months old on July 3rd!  Full disclosure, it’s been rough over here.  I thought The Wee Two’s sleep was bad before, haha, guess what?  It can always get worse. My sweet boy’s night wakings are out of control.  The Scottish and I have passed sleep deprivation and rounded the corner into sleep torture.  Immediately after The Wee Two hit 3 months old he began waking up a ton at night. I don’t mean every few hours, I mean every 30-40 minutes some nights.  He’d often wake up Read more […]

The Wee Two: Three Months

This was a big month for The Wee Two. We had Papa and Gran Scottish visiting from Glasgow for three weeks so not only were we extra busy but this little guy did a ton of developing too. I absolutely LOVE when a baby’s personality starts to peek through.  I’d describe the first look of his personality as laid-back, curious, and sweet.  The Wee Two began giggling and laughing this month and it’s pretty much the best thing ever.  I don’t think I caught his first chuckle like I did with The Read more […]

The Wee Two turned two months old on May 3rd.  To be honest, it’s been a lot of the same newborn stuff with the added pleasure of more smiles and alertness.  The Wee Two is focusing more on faces and objects which has been really fun.  I can’t wait to see more of his personality shine through! We’ve started giving The Wee Two a bottle regularly but by regularly I mean mostly on the weekends because it’s difficult managing The Scottish feeding him while I pump, The Wee One running around, Read more […]

Soooo, The Wee Two is actually two months old (already? yes!) but obviously I have to post his one month update first!  Let’s rewind to April 3rd. Like I mentioned, the first month with two kiddos was tough.  Just as The Wee One was getting more fun and independent we HAD to throw a newborn into the mix.  🙂  The lack of sleep and busy days made The Wee Two’s first month a bit of a blur but we got into a rhythm and now we can’t imagine our lives any other way than with our two boys. The Read more […]

I’m so in love with these photos from Annie at Annie Wiegers Photography.  Not only has Annie taken The Wee One and now The Wee Two’s newborn photos, but she also did The Wee One’s first birthday shoot and The Glue and The Tape’s wedding.  By now, having her come to our house to take our picture is like having an old friend stop by to say hi.  We catch up on life while she snaps photos quietly with her camera.  It’s the perfect, relaxed setting for a mama who has just given Read more […]

I didn’t want to start contracting at night.  I was hoping for a day time birth because laboring overnight means less sleep and the dark makes everything seem scarier.  Alas, my body seems to enjoy contracting in the evenings… Tuesday March 1st.  Both The Scottish and I are relieved to have made it to March.  We didn’t want a leap year baby and we had our hearts set on March and a slightly more spring time birth.  I begin losing my mucous plug and I’m tentatively excited. Wednesday March Read more […]

Hiiiiiii friends! I finally found time for a quick check-in so I could update you all on how we’re doing as a family of four (five with McKenna!). Umm, life is tough!  The first two weeks after The Wee Two was born were a total blur of doctor visits, nursing, attempting to sleep (The Scottish and I took turns on the couch at first), and moments of “What have we gotten ourselves into?”  The third and fourth weeks got even worse at least for me.  After The Scottish went back to work and Read more […]

The Wee Two arrived Thursday March 3rd at 10:48 AM. He was 9 lbs even and 21 inches long at birth!  He was born at 39 weeks and 4 days.  Labor was shorter this time at 12 hours from start to finish with only 10 minutes of pushing!  That part was awesome.  There is more to the story of course so I will be writing a birth story when I have time but for now I just wanted to stop in and show you our newest little guy. The Wee One was a bit skeptical at the hospital but since we’ve brought Read more […]

A Bump and a Bad Cold

No, thankfully I am not sick, but The Wee One caught yet another virus recently.  ARGH!  We took him to a pediatrician, and luckily it’s a normal winter cold but the very interesting ped suggested I keep the baby in another week if possible while acknowledging I don’t really have control over that.  (shakes head) He also told me that April is more ideal for having babies.  Why on earth would you say that to someone who is 38 weeks along?  Let me just go back in my time machine…  And then Read more […]
