Isn’t he the cutest?!?  Surprisingly, The Wee One did NOT hate being dressed up in costume.  He did really well despite always having shark teeth covering his face and we didn’t make him stay in it for too long. The Sister had a Halloween costume for her dog and guess what?  He was a shark as well! Her dog refuses to move when he’s wearing something near his head/neck.  It’s hilarious. How was everyone’s weekend?  On Wednesday I’m planning on sharing more Scotland Read more […]

Guess what? We’re in Scotland!  Whoo-hoo!  I scheduled this post in advance so I could end the week as normal. I promised I’d share more about my birthday so here goes, the day was absolute perfection.  It started off with an iced vanilla latte and a mani/pedi with The BFF.  Then a relaxing afternoon nap with my adorable son, and finally a date night with my hubby. I also BANKED on a bunch of free stuff, Starbucks, Which Wich, and Caribou.  Does anyone else retail hop on their birthday? Read more […]

My life is unpredictable right now.  It’s new and it’s busy and I’m still trying to figure out how to manage my time so that I can still blog while caring for an infant, a dog and still keep the house clean and all of us fed.  The past few days have been even busier as I’ve had my nanny family in town.  The Nanny Mom brought us tons of food and cooked delicious meals for us to eat, while Big C and Littlest C doted on The Wee One and McKenna.  It’s been a great visit but it meant I had no time Read more […]

I wanted to share a bit about how The Scottish is doing as a new father these days.  If I had to describe his parenting in two words I’d use amazing and hilarious. For starters he comes home from work exhausted but still finds energy to play and help with the care of his son.  By the evening I’m beyond ready for a break and he is beyond ready to say hi to the little guy.  I never thought I’d say this, but I now find preparing dinner quite peaceful after a day of caring for a newborn. Helloooooo!!  How are you all doing?  I’m finally back with a post.  Thanks for being patient with me. We’ve definitely been undergoing a big adjustment these past two weeks after the arrival of The Wee One.  Life is so bizarre right now, I feel like I’m a hamster running in a wheel, constantly moving but not going anywhere. What I’m trying to say is, it’s Groundhog day over here people.  I do the same things not just every day but every few hours!  I nurse, change diapers, rock/console Read more […]

To be perfectly honest, my mind is elsewhere friends.  I’m having trouble focusing on content for the blog because I’m so focused on becoming a mother, I mean, my due date is in 9 days!!  But I refuse to throw in the towel early.  I’m in the process of writing a deep reflection type post for Friday but I’m not sure when I’ll get back to editing it.  For now, please give me some wiggle room. And for those of you who like posts that aren’t super text heavy, this is for you.   What Read more […]

Happy Friday everybody!  Let’s go over some of the survey results.  In case you didn’t get a chance to fill it out, you can always go back to this post and do it now.  Responses always welcome! I had a decent amount of entries but definitely not as many entries as I have regular hits (readers) on my blog.  And that’s OK, I don’t fault anyone for not wanting to fill it out and to those of you who did, thank you so much! Sorry but I won’t be sharing numbers or percentages, mostly because Read more […]

July Blogging Challenge

So happy July everybody!  This is the month I’m supposed to have my baby!!  WHOO-HOO!!  Let’s hope that is the case.  For some reason I would feel so odd having an August baby after looking forward to July for such a long time, but we can’t really predict the future now can we? For now I’m trying to stay out of the heat, spend lots of time cuddling McKenna and The Scottish, and rest as much as possible.  It’s the calm before the storm, although I’m SUPER excited about the storm.  🙂 For Read more […]

“A quotation is a handy thing to have about, saving one the trouble of thinking for oneself, always a laborious business.” -A.A. Milne I absolutely LOVE words, and I’m assuming that is clear to everyone by now.  First off, I blog. If you don’t like words, writing, thinking faster than you can type, and over-sharing, blogging is probably not for you, but in my case, it fits my personality perfectly. I collect quotes and quotation books and have collected them since I was in high school.  I Read more […]

Naming This Baby

Posted by & filed under Blogging, Drama Heavy, Pregnancy, The Scottish, The Wee One.

Before I go any further I want to sincerely apologize for even talking about names on DH because I’m probably going to keep The Wee One’s name off the blog.  Writing this post makes me feel like a big tease and maybe I’ll change my mind later on, but for now I don’t plan on parading him around DH too often (of course they’ll be pictures here and there!) but that means keeping his name private as well. The most commonly asked question once your bump begins to show is, “Have you picked a name Read more […]
