This cutie turned two on July 22nd and he’s got the attitude to prove it.  Hehe. The Wee One is at such a fun age because he’s talking so much more and we can actually have real conversations.  I can understand almost everything he says and he is great at repeating new words although he sounds a bit like Joey from friends when Phoebe is trying to teach him French. His interpretation of our last name is ridiculous and his version of coffee is wildly inappropriate.  You’ll just have Read more […]

These Are The Years…

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Heartstrings, Marriage, Motherhood, Partnerships, Relationships General, The Scottish, Wee Ones.

These are the years… of going to bed at 8:30 PM because we’re so crazy exhausted. of rarely being alone together. of nothing in the house for lunch but sandwich bread heels and old fruit. Just enough to keep everyone fed. of wearing the same stained shirts and ripped jeans because any extra money goes to clothing for the boys. of calling each other Mommy and Daddy. of eating out less.  Oh, how we miss eating out. of watching Netflix together instead of talking or connecting Read more […]

It’s Not About the Pillows

couch and blanket couch and blanket

Every day The Wee One pulls the couch pillows and blanket down to the floor.  And every day I put them back on the couch.  This happens roughly 100 times per day.  OK, so it doesn’t happen that often but I will put the couch pillows back, turn around, and The Wee One will be wrestling them to the ground yet again. The little rascal in action, he also likes to throw my burp clothes on the ground.  Grr.   I have to put them back up for two reasons, 1) because I use a pillow Read more […]

I’m so in love with these photos from Annie at Annie Wiegers Photography.  Not only has Annie taken The Wee One and now The Wee Two’s newborn photos, but she also did The Wee One’s first birthday shoot and The Glue and The Tape’s wedding.  By now, having her come to our house to take our picture is like having an old friend stop by to say hi.  We catch up on life while she snaps photos quietly with her camera.  It’s the perfect, relaxed setting for a mama who has just given Read more […]

The Wee Two’s Birth Story: My 2nd Beautiful Miracle

If you are just tuning in, part one of The Wee Two’s birth story can be found HERE. Where we last left off I was a whopping 8 cm dilated and feeling good about my progress.  My OB decided it was time to rupture my waters.  It seems my babies like to take their sweet time descending and breaking my waters usually speeds up the process. Remember at the end of my last post when I said I was at an 8 but not for long?  Unfortunately, after my OB broke my waters, I went backwards to 6 cm dilated. Read more […]

The Wee Two arrived Thursday March 3rd at 10:48 AM. He was 9 lbs even and 21 inches long at birth!  He was born at 39 weeks and 4 days.  Labor was shorter this time at 12 hours from start to finish with only 10 minutes of pushing!  That part was awesome.  There is more to the story of course so I will be writing a birth story when I have time but for now I just wanted to stop in and show you our newest little guy. The Wee One was a bit skeptical at the hospital but since we’ve brought Read more […]

Well, it’s official!  We’re going to have a March baby!!  The Scottish and I are very happy about this.  We love March, it’s the month of his birthday, our wedding anniversary, and the first day of spring, what’s not to love? I’m officially 39 weeks 2 days as this post goes live which is the exact day I delivered The Wee One (contractions began at 39 weeks).  For some dumb reason, we all assumed that I’d be having baby number 2 by this time as well.  Maybe it was all those early contractions Read more […]

Don’t Forget: The Time He Climbed Into the Shower With His Clothes On

Posted by & filed under baby updates, Heartstrings, Motherhood, The Wee One.

First off, Happy Birthday to The Cuz Man!  He is one year old today!  We can’t wait for his party this weekend.  Last year there was a snow storm on his day of birth and this year there is one finishing up.  I remember driving back from the hospital in awful traffic and terrible visibility with a screaming 6 month old.  Good times. Speaking of bad winter weather, I was stupid yesterday and drove a bit father than usual to meet my friends at a coffee shop/play area.  We had a great time but Read more […]

The Wee One is a year and a half old!  WHOA!! And it’s been a while (six months) since I posted an update about him.  We had his 18 month appointment this past Friday and it went really well!  The Wee One is following his growth tracks and is right where he should be developmentally.  The pediatrician said the hardest age to examine is 18 months but The Wee One was particularly easy.  To her credit, she did a great job of chatting with us first and keeping things very nonchalant.  She Read more […]

To My First Born

Dear Wee One, You won’t remember the 19 months it was you, me, and Daddy, but I will.  You will only know life with a younger brother in it, but I will remember all the moments we had as a family of three, and the days we spent just the two of us. July 22, 2014, you made me a mother with your entrance into this world after a looooong labor and 2.5 hours of pushing.  It was painful but one of the best things to ever happen to me. You were a typical newborn, and those early days Read more […]
