A Bump and Braxton Hicks

Hi, bump time again! But first a story side note.  Recently, I went to the Mall of America by myself.  It was surreal to go somewhere at NIGHT when it’s DARK out and WITHOUT my husband or kid.  It felt bizarre walking around the mall with teenage girls and couples everywhere, a real contrast from the daytime crowd of older people, moms, and children. As I walked to my destination, I started having contractions.  Sure they were Braxton Hicks type of contractions and nothing to really worry Read more […]

Don’t Forget: The Time He Climbed Into the Shower With His Clothes On

First off, Happy Birthday to The Cuz Man!  He is one year old today!  We can’t wait for his party this weekend.  Last year there was a snow storm on his day of birth and this year there is one finishing up.  I remember driving back from the hospital in awful traffic and terrible visibility with a screaming 6 month old.  Good times. Speaking of bad winter weather, I was stupid yesterday and drove a bit father than usual to meet my friends at a coffee shop/play area.  We had a great time but Read more […]

The Wee One: 18 Month Update

The Wee One is a year and a half old!  WHOA!! And it’s been a while (six months) since I posted an update about him.  We had his 18 month appointment this past Friday and it went really well!  The Wee One is following his growth tracks and is right where he should be developmentally.  The pediatrician said the hardest age to examine is 18 months but The Wee One was particularly easy.  To her credit, she did a great job of chatting with us first and keeping things very nonchalant.  She Read more […]

Hello Anxiety, My Old Friend

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Drama Heavy, Motherhood, Pregnancy.

My apologies for going MIA at the end of last week, that might continue to happen every so often in the next few weeks as I near my due date.  Sure, I’m feeling overwhelmed and tired but that I can normally push through.  However, much like my last pregnancy, in approaching month 8 I have become anxiety-ridden.  I’m a worrier by nature but being extra hormonal, swollen, and emotional, it’s gotten worse recently. I am no stranger to anxiety over things like money, life changes, and travel, Read more […]

To My First Born

Dear Wee One, You won’t remember the 19 months it was you, me, and Daddy, but I will.  You will only know life with a younger brother in it, but I will remember all the moments we had as a family of three, and the days we spent just the two of us. July 22, 2014, you made me a mother with your entrance into this world after a looooong labor and 2.5 hours of pushing.  It was painful but one of the best things to ever happen to me. You were a typical newborn, and those early days Read more […]

A Bump and Back Pain

Wow, it’s been a while since I posted a bump update.  Let’s see, what was going on then… a whole lot of normal pregnancy stuff that’s what.  If I remember correctly, this is when my back pain was at it’s worse.  Right around Thanksgiving, lucky me!  What is it with me and icky holidays this year??  Ugh. But I don’t want to talk about the bad stuff, let’s get to the good stuff!  If I remember correctly, around 25 weeks is when we started making progress on baby boy’s nursery, buying and Read more […]

Hello lovely readers.  I will be taking a blogging break for the rest of the holiday season but I wanted to share one last post before that happens! I swear the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas felt like it flew by this year, partly because Thanksgiving was pretty late, partly because the weather has been decently warm for December and we haven’t had much snow, and partly because life is just plain busy! We always have grand plans to make the most of the holiday season and this time Read more […]

ARGGHHHH.  I’ve tried to write about The Wee One’s most recent nap transition for weeks now!  But since it’s always changing and it’s not the most exciting topic, I’ve pushed it off.  Well, no more.  I really want to have this post to look back on when my next kiddo reaches the same transition, so bear with me.  I will be posting random cute photos in attempts to hold your interest. 🙂 For some reason The Wee One loves watching our vacuum.  He likes to follow The Scottish around and stand Read more […]

Preggo the Second Time-o

I love reading those hilarious posts about how different a woman’s second pregnancy is to her first.  It happens to all of us.  We have more time to obsess and plan during the first one and during the second one it’s a blur of parenthood mixed with pregnancy.  Here’s my list of the biggest differences. My first pregnancy we had timed everything perfectly and I was charting my cycle.  I peed on lots of tests and I remember the night before I found out I was pregnant The Scottish and I went Read more […]

The First Snowman and Crying on Santa’s Lap

I’m feeling really low energy this week so I’m going to keep this post simple and photo-heavy. We just had a relatively warm autumn for Minnesota and now we are having a very mild winter which I’m really enjoying!  Minnesota’s first major snowfall was a bit later than usual this year and it’s already melted and gone! But before it left I got The Wee One all bundled up one afternoon and when Grandma MN stopped by she helped him make his first snowman (snowperson?).  Yay! The snow Read more […]
