Hey guys!  It’s been a while hasn’t it??  🙂 I figured I should probably check in on my small slice of the internet and make sure it’s doing OK.  Looks a bit dusty around here and sounds pretty quiet but all is well! Here’s hoping all is well with you guys too! Unfortunately, this isn’t going to be a rejuvenating post filled with ambitious plans to start back up with more frequent blogging. The time has come, and it finally feels right to close this chapter of my life, at least Read more […]

It’s OK to Feel Uncomfortable

Posted by & filed under All About Me, Drama Heavy, Not the Norm.

It’s OK to feel uncomfortable.  Your feelings might get hurt.  You might regret how you voted.  You might feel like your vote didn’t matter.  You might feel like you didn’t do enough.  And that’s OK.  This past election has been eye-opening for me.  I went through so many stages and feelings and to be honest, I’m still processing everything that happened.  I’ve experienced anger, sadness, guilt, bewilderment, and sorrow.  As a writer, it’s cathartic for me to write things out, so if you Read more […]

3 Wedding Bands in 3 Years

OK.  I’ll admit it!  I have commitment issues… with wedding bands. For some reason I can’t seem to commit to one style or one right!  But that’s not the only reason I’m on my THIRD wedding band with our third year anniversary around the corner.  It’s because the rings I’ve picked have had major issues of their own. While we were engaged I was so unsure of which way to go with a wedding band.  The Scottish did such a great job picking out a princess cut center stone set in a band with smaller Read more […]

Wow, it’s been a while since I posted a bump update.  Let’s see, what was going on then… a whole lot of normal pregnancy stuff that’s what.  If I remember correctly, this is when my back pain was at it’s worse.  Right around Thanksgiving, lucky me!  What is it with me and icky holidays this year??  Ugh. But I don’t want to talk about the bad stuff, let’s get to the good stuff!  If I remember correctly, around 25 weeks is when we started making progress on baby boy’s nursery, buying and Read more […]

It Always Feels Like This

It feels amazing when they first arrive.  The room is filled with calm and happiness after months of anticipation.  THEY’RE FINALLY HERE!!  The Scottish is not an overly expressive man, but there is something extra joyful about him when his parents are around.  It’s super cute. I feel really lucky that my in-laws are such great people and fantastic grandparents.  They stayed with us for two weeks and spent much of it playing and laughing with The Wee One.  After some slight hesitation Read more […]

I’m sure you’ve all heard the newest royal baby was born on May 2nd to Prince William and Princess Kate aka The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.  They had a girl named Charlotte Elizabeth Diana!! But you can also refer to her with the official title of Her Royal Highness Princess Charlotte of Cambridge if you feel so inclined. Man, they’re a gorgeous couple. OK enough royal family fawning.  The real point of this post is that the new little princess is giving me terrible baby Read more […]

Not This Again

ARGH!!!!!!!  We have thrush again.  If you have no idea why I’m so upset by this then perhaps you are new here (so welcome!) or maybe you just missed those posts where I shared our journey with thrush that started when The Wee One was a newborn. (Catch up by reading THIS about the beginning, THIS for the most recent update or THIS for something humorous.) Yes, I’m in pain again.  Nursing hurts but it’s not like before, it’s more of a manageable nuisance that makes me wince and tense up Read more […]

It’s Not That Noticeable

This post has taken a while for me to sit down and write.  For some reason I’m embarrassed about both the situation and my response to the situation, and I don’t embarrass easily.  I’m also worried what others may think, which is puzzling because most of the time I don’t care what people think of my posts.  Drama Happens is a place for my thoughts, my life, and my stories.  Yet, this one made me pause. Luckily, I don’t let fear dictate my life, so here goes… The Wee One has a flat spot Read more […]

“Why is my baby crying?”

Posted by & filed under baby updates, Motherhood, Not the Norm, The Scottish, The Wee One.

march 3rd march 3rd

I ask myself this question a lot lately, although it’s usually in a comical fashion, while shaking my head in dismay.  🙂 Is he really crying because I left the room??  Is he crying because I took his toy away to clean apple purée off it??  Is he crying because he doesn’t want a diaper change… again!?!?  ARGH.  Is this kid for real right now? We’ve entered a new zone.  The Wee One has become clingy and whiny and not just with me!  It happens with The Scottish as well, and when Grandpa Read more […]

Are You a Jerk or a Sweetheart?

Scotland April 2012 055 Scotland April 2012 055

I was half watching this show the other day about random life facts when something grabbed my attention.  They were explaining how to tell if you’re a jerk or a sweetheart.  Well, I thought, I must find out!! First sign you’re a jerk?  You don’t think it’s AT ALL possible that you are one.  I was already doing well because it was something I had to contemplate for a minute.  Phew! A jerk is someone who kisses up to those above them (on the work or social life ladder) and looks down on Read more […]
