Yay, we all made it to Friday!  Cheers to us! I haven’t done a Way To Go Weekend in a while so I thought it was time to bring it back.  So how are you doing?  Personally, I’m feeling incredibly stressed out and crabby because we are moving next Thursday and my house is a whirlwind of packing chaos.  I LOATHE clutter and when my house is cluttered my mind just poops out on me and refuses to work.  To make matters worse The Scottish is being spread thin at work even though it’s his last week. Happy Tuesday everybody!  It’s time for another relationship interview and this week we are talking to S about what it’s like to be single when it seems most of the world chooses to pair off and get married. (Yes, it’s become clear I have an obsession with funny e cards.  Sorry I’m not sorry.) As always be respectful in the comments but DO feel free to comment!  S is a fellow artist friend and someone I met while doing theatre in Chicago.  She’s really nice and really funny.  And I Read more […]

I’m happy to report the Remember the Time blog hop is back and this week’s theme is big iconic news (and how it affected you).  Link up HERE or HERE to add your own post or to read the other entries! I’ve mentioned before that my memory is pretty pathetic, which makes the Remember the Time blog hop even more fun for me because it forces me to enter the recesses of my mind and pull out some trinkets I’d otherwise forgotten about. The first major events that crossed my mind were these two: I Read more […]

Mantra-2014 Mantra-2014

It’s only been a week or so since I picked a mantra for this great year, 2014.  In case you forgot, here it is again. As it turns out, I’m struggling to remember to use my mantra in times of frustration (example being when the internet guy visited and somehow managed to things worse instead of better), but do you know who isn’t struggling?  THE SCOTTISH.  Yes, every time I start to get annoyed with something or you know, raise my voice at him or because the world is full of idiots, he Read more […]

Yep, it’s that time again.  Time to explore another type of relationship through a personal and eye-opening interview!  Yay! Next week’s topic will highlight something that has a tendency to get overlooked quite a bit here at Drama Happens or any relationship blog for that matter.  I am referring to single people.  Single people who are happily single, who are not searching for their soul mate online or hunting down prey at the bar.  Single people who are primarily single by choice and who Read more […]

At the Alzheimer's Home At the Alzheimer's Home

Argh.  Groan. Ulhhhh.  That’s how I feel when I look back to my ten day holiday travel extravaganza. You know how sometimes when you worry about something only to have it be just as difficult as you imagined?  Yea. That. (I’m gonna ATTEMPT to make this trip recap as interesting and comical as possible but you know, some stuff is serious.) First off the travel, oh my gosh, the traveling.  5 days of being in the car for 8 hours is no joke.  In fact, it’s quite miserable.  Your butt gets Read more […]

Mantra-2014 Mantra-2014

Hi Everybody!  Happy New Year!!!  (Did you miss me?)  I missed you guys! And good ol’ Drama Happens. As a blog writer in particular, I find that ideas come to me at random times, usually while trying to fall asleep at night or in the middle of grocery shopping.  Sometimes I’ll feel completely lost and unsure of my next topic for days at a time, or totally drained of new ideas for blog posts, but then, like magic, something hits me and I find inspiration. Even though DH is only half a year Read more […]

Counting My Failures

I know it’s the season to count your blessings and soon everyone in the blogosphere will be making new year’s resolutions, but before I can make any new goals I need to assess my recent failures.  I don’t know about you but there’s nothing more depressing to me than reading about someone else’s laundry list of successes.  I’m all, “Good for you and blah blah blah.  I suck.” We’ve all had our share of disappointments this year and things that just didn’t happen.  I’m here to say that’s OK. I was thinking the other day, what’s the one thing I have yet to do as a full-fledged adult? Travel?  Nope.  BEEN THERE.  DONE THAT.  I’ve seen almost half of the entire United Kingdom.  Impressive, I know. Do something dangerous?  Does white water rafting and almost being killed by a horse count?  OK, so the horse didn’t almost kill me but I can’t remember being as terrified as I was while on that hill surrounded by horses that refused to stay on the trail and a hung over guide.
