I’m going to be real with you guys.  I miss this space.  I miss the freedom to write about whatever, over-share on details, and post a billion pictures of my boys.  It feels weird to let Drama Happens get so quiet but it’s been the right choice for me.  I’ve been blogging at Hellobee pretty regularly which has been really fun, rewarding, and sometimes challenging but in a positive way.  I’m also struggling to find the energy to write more than an update or two a month because I’m so tired and Read more […]

You know how you spend weeks making a costume for your two-year old and then they don’t want to wear it?  Me neither.  Mostly because I didn’t make the costume, The Scottish did, hehe.  But I did drag the costume to music class only for him to tell me, “No thank you, no thank you” over and over again. I get it.  It’s a bit awkward and scary to wear a box but seriously he LOVES it.  He pushes it around the house and talks about how it’s HIS train. What am I talking about?  The Wee One’s Read more […]

A Bump and Buying a Minivan

Sure, this week’s B word has little to do with my pregnancy… or does it?  We’re obviously buying a minivan because we need more space for our two kids (plus car seats), a dog, and all of the crap we take with us when we travel.  It was never all going to fit in our old vehicle, a Kia Sportage.  After lots of research and one loooong Saturday we ended up choosing a slightly used Dodge Caravan. Car buying while pregnant is a bizarre experience.  There may have been tears as we drove away Read more […]

Heeeey Everybody!  I missed you guys.  And I missed blogging.  Although taking a break is always beneficial to me because I come back itching to share my stories and thoughts.  The Scottish had last week off from work and it’s been amazing!  I loving extra family time and it’s so stinkin’ cute to see how much The Wee One loves playing with and hanging on to his Daddy. My back has felt really good lately and I know that’s because I’ve carried The Wee One A LOT less recently.  Alas, it’s Read more […]

Hello lovely readers.  I will be taking a blogging break for the rest of the holiday season but I wanted to share one last post before that happens! I swear the time between Thanksgiving and Christmas felt like it flew by this year, partly because Thanksgiving was pretty late, partly because the weather has been decently warm for December and we haven’t had much snow, and partly because life is just plain busy! We always have grand plans to make the most of the holiday season and this time Read more […]

I’m feeling really low energy this week so I’m going to keep this post simple and photo-heavy. We just had a relatively warm autumn for Minnesota and now we are having a very mild winter which I’m really enjoying!  Minnesota’s first major snowfall was a bit later than usual this year and it’s already melted and gone! But before it left I got The Wee One all bundled up one afternoon and when Grandma MN stopped by she helped him make his first snowman (snowperson?).  Yay! The snow Read more […]

Blogging About My Bubble

I’ve been feeling extra emotional these days.  Pregnancy hormones are mostly to blame, but let’s be honest, I cry at the drop of a hat even when I’m not pregnant.  There are so many thoughts zipping through my head at all times, so much to do in preparation for baby #2, and yet, so much joy and gratefulness in the everyday little things.  Life is good, and we’re really trying to make the most of this blessed time of year. However shiny my little bubble is, there is turmoil, death, sorrow, Read more […]

We had such a nice four-day holiday weekend that going back to regularly scheduled life programming has been a little tough for me. A Monday that started off normally was made worse by an epic toddler tantrum post-nap.  The Wee One’s meltdowns are completely typical behavior for his age but it’s still frustrating.  It must be so difficult for him to want something but be unable to communicate what that is, and now that we’ve taught him “please” and “thank you” in sign language I’m pretty sure Read more […]

Hello lovely readers and Happy Thanksgiving to those folks in the USA!   Guys, I’ve become such a holiday junkie in my (relatively) “old” age.  I love it more and more each year!  I can’t get enough of holiday music and I usually start baking cookies as soon as Halloween is over.  I love family get togethers, holiday parties, and browsing the holiday section in every store I go into to.  The cold weather seems appropriate now and joy is in the air. Speaking of joy, I’m so happy Read more […]

The Wee One sported two different looks this year for two reasons, 1) it’s fun and 2) he needed a costume to wear to his party with his fellow toddler friends because his other one didn’t make sense without The Cuz Man. First up, introducing Dr. Wee One. I was able to snap a few photos of him before he headed into post-op to meet with a patient.  He’s a very busy man you know. The Wee One loved wearing his stethoscope, which we all thought he would get annoyed with but no, he he wore Read more […]
